About Me
I am mature, calm, friendly, empathetic and intuitive when working with my clients. When working together, you'll find me to be approachable and inclusive yet clear and decisive. It is my nature not to be too formal so will also find me to be down to earth, grounded, respectful and focused in my approach. I am a Husband, a Dad, a Son, and a Brother with a range of life experiences that have equipped me well to support you.
If you are a current or former police officer or a member of a police family, you will find that my former police career has provided me with familiar operational and life experiences that will hopefully lessen the apprehension of working with a psychologist. I understand the life of a police officer as well as the stress, demands and family impact of a police career. In my role as Clinical Director at Blue Hope Support Services, I have provided assistance to thousands of police officers and their families from all over Australia.
My Research
My ongoing PhD research at the University of Queensland focuses on the epidemiology, treatment and psychological recovery processes of police officers suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, occupational stress and moral injury.
